Fostering has been a positive journey in our lives. It has brought many blessings to our family, including relationships with new parents and the children we care for. It has expanded our family, community, and taught us new skills. Foster Care has been a productive way of building stronger families and keeping children safe. We have fostered over 20 children. Unfortunately, they all have one thing in common: they enter care empty-handed and need everything. AZ Trusted Family Services helps bridge that gap with their many resources and support.
We, the Mungai's, look to AZ Trusted Family Services, a non-profit organization for the support our family needs when aiming to be a blessing and provide significant help to foster families. It is crucial for us to have a place to turn to for immediate assistance when we receive a placement. Many of the kids arrive with very little, so having a safe haven to obtain the necessary items to start over and ensure that the kids are well taken care of and comfortable, is essential. This will help us to provide for their crucial needs, making them feel loved, accepted, and cared for.
Fostering children can be both rewarding and challenging. As foster parents, we have faced unique obstacles during our 10-year journey. Children in foster care often arrive with trauma and emotional needs, which can be overwhelming. However, it is also very rewarding to witness children's milestones such as their first steps, learning to drive, graduating from school, and other cognitive achievements. The uncertainty of a child's future, whether they will reunify with birth parents, be adopted, or remain in foster care, adds to the complexity. Your support is invaluable, but the demand for foster homes remains high in Arizona. If fostering isn't feasible for others, encouraging donations can make a difference. Every contribution, from diapers, car seats, clothing, and necessities to school supplies, matters, and AZ Trusted Family Services helps to bridge that gap.
